Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

Explore the National Park

Recently voted, “America’s Most Beautiful Place” by ABC’s Good Morning America audience. The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a spectacular coastal park encompassing over 70,000 acres in Benzie and Leelanau counties. The park has over 100 miles of designated trails to hike, cross-country ski, and snow-shoe, plus over thirty miles of undisturbed sugar sand Lake Michigan shoreline. Favorite spots include Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive with its awe inspiring over-looks and Dune Climb. Along with Platte River Point where parents and kids alike ride the current of the Platte River out into the crystal clear Lake Michigan.

Seasonal Notice for our Lower Platte River trips: All trips are running, however boats must portage (be carried in and out of the river) to the left of the weir while the gate is closed.
